Apple CEO Tim Cook confirmed in a company earnings call that the first generation Apple Watch will start shipping in April 2015.
Speaking to analysts and shareholders Tim Cook said:
“Development for Apple Watch is right on schedule and we expect to begin shipping in April.”
Prior to the recent earnings call Apple only offered a vague early 2015 launch window, with the Apple Watch website stating that the smartwatch was ‘Coming Early 2015’.
This announced shipping window from Tim Cook aligns with the start of a new financial year for Apple.
Other than stating that Apple will begin shipment of the Apple Watch in April no further details were given, such as a range of price points or information on global release plans.
The entry level Apple Watch will start at $349 US dollars when it launches in April.
